No. Mentorship is focused on guidance, encouragement, and personal development. If you feel you need clinical mental health support, we encourage you to connect with a licensed therapist. Visit our Resources Corner to help you find appropriate care.
Therapy is a clinical and professional service that addresses deep-rooted emotional and psychological challenges. It often involves working through trauma, long-standing mental health issues, and complex personal struggles over an extended period of time with a licensed therapist or counselor. Therapy provides a safe, structured space for healing, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions.
Mentorship at The Afiya Corner, on the other hand, offers faith-based guidance and support focused on personal and spiritual growth. It helps individuals set goals, build confidence, and navigate life’s challenges through encouragement and practical advice. While mentorship provides valuable insight and accountability, it is not designed to replace the clinical care and healing process that therapy provides, but rather to complement it.
Our mentorship and events are open to individuals 18+ seeking growth within an Islamic framework-whether you’re a student, professional, community member, or organization. Mentorship sessions provide tailored guidance for each stage of life. Each offering is designed to meet the unique needs of the individual.
At this time, all mentorship sessions are offered virtually. This allows us to connect with individuals regardless of location while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment.
No, we don’t accept insurance for our services.
Mentorship at The Afiya Corner takes place through 50-minute virtual sessions focused on personal growth, spiritual development, and navigating life’s challenges. You will receive a link to join the meeting prior to your session. Our goal is to provide a supportive space where you feel heard, valued, and empowered.
You can explore topics such as personal growth, spiritual development, goal-setting, wellness, and learning how to make difficult decisions or choose the path that’s right for you when faced with uncertainty.
Please note that, while our founder is a licensed therapist, she does not provide therapy during these sessions. Mentorship is not intended to address deep trauma or mental health concerns. If you need support in those areas, we encourage you to seek a licensed therapist. More information is available in the Resources Corner.
